Fed up with the world

Muslim helps Jews attacked on New York subway: «Friday’s altercation on the Q train began when somebody yelled out “Merry Christmas,” to which rider Walter Adler responded, “Happy Hanukkah,” said Toba Hellerstein.»

  1. I thought quite a while why this article is startling me. And the reason is its very existence. Why are there articles because a Muslim helps jews. It sounds, and I’m sorry in advance for the provocating comparison, like nazi saving a jew. Are Muslims in America and elsewhere in the world really such bad guys that it is worth publishing an article if one of them helps fellow citizens who happen to be jewish? Shouldn’t it be normal that we intervene if someone of whatsoever religion is aggressed in a public space?
However, I understand that such articles may be necessary in a world dominated more and more by extremists showing them and everybody else that religion is not an obstacle to help. I just read an amazing article about surfers in Gaza who got new boards by an American jew. If this and the exemple in the article would be more current, the world would be a better place.

  2. You’re right underlining the Muslim singularity; the _American_ Muslim hero, that’s how some media call him (check news.google.com).

However, what I found particularly frustrating is the inner nonsense: “long life to the Martians”, “long life to the Venusians”. Enough to start hitting each other.
